We can't believe how fast everything is moving. On Monday, the 14th we had a pre-drywall meeting. The house was nothing but studs...Our plan was to tag the studs with our names and other memorable things BUT we got there too late and it was dark by the time we were finishing up our formal meeting. Fast forward three days later and the drywall was complete! Not an inch left for us to tag, but we were very happy with the progress! They even started the siding!
A blog of our experience building a Ryan home in Rochester, NY. We are new to home-building so this has been an interesting experience.

Movin' on Up (to the 2nd floor)!
Two days later we're able to go up stairs. Four days later our home is complete...almost (wishful thinking). It's hard to believe that we've come this far this fast. But then some days it does not feel fast enough. We've had a few conversations with our Project Manager (PM) but as of last Friday found out that we were getting a new primary point of contact and his plan is to contact us EVERY FRIDAY for an update. This is a plus, because we appreciate all of the updates that we can get. So far we've been told that the house would be ready by the end of the year but that feels like a HUGE variable. End of the year, December 31st? End of the year, the day after Christmas? End of the year, the day before Christmas, etc. We're thankful anyway, but would love to know if we will be experiencing our first Christmas in our new home this year or next year. Fingers crossed that we'll be able to open up a gift or two in our Milan this year!
Framing Up!
Things are moving along. We had our lumber dropped off around the 20th of October. We excitedly anticipated the next steps in the building process.
The framing of the first floor started a few days later. Everyday we can see new progress
